Primary Healthcare Centers Comprehensive Revitalization & Upgrades
Revitalized 25 model Primary Healthcare Centers with 90–95% completion achieved, including modern painting, wall crack restoration, security perimeter fencing, floor tiling, and renovated staff quarters. In addition, 145 Primary Healthcare Centers across all 13 LGAs underwent roof leak repairs and toilet construction.
127% Target Achieved & Zero-Dose Elimination
Routine immunization coverage for children under one year climbed from a baseline of 82% to an unprecedented 127% for Measles 1 (110,852 infants) and 118% for Penta 3 (116,096 infants). Over 204,300 children were immunized statewide, and 3,073 zero-dose children in remote riverine and border settlements were successfully tracked and protected.
Two MRI Scanners & One CT Scan Installed at Oferekpe
Under the IMPACT project framework, the Ebonyi State Government procured, installed, and commissioned two modern MRI machines and one high-slice CT scanner at the Ebonyi State Diagnostics Center, Oferekpe. Supported by dedicated high-capacity solar installations, this center serves as Southeast Nigeria's foremost public medical imaging facility.
353 Health Workers Permanently Absorbed into State Civil Service
His Excellency, The Executive Governor, approved the permanent absorption of 353 IMPACT-engaged Skilled Birth Attendants and adhoc personnel into the Ebonyi State Civil Service. This solved the critical human resource deficit in rural maternity wards. In parallel, IPT3 malaria protection reached 89% (24,871 pregnant women) and early postnatal visits climbed to 90% (11,962 mothers).
Fleet of 40 Motorcycles & 80 Motorized Boreholes
Strengthened last-mile vaccine distribution and cold-chain oversight with 40 rugged motorcycles distributed across the 13 Local Government Health Authorities, alongside 2 project operational vehicles. 80 motorized boreholes and 12 water harvesting systems were constructed to guarantee clean clinical running water.
